Recipe - fruit smoothie

This is a great option for breakfast if you find you are rushed in the morning and find that you do not have time to sit down and eat.  Smoothies are high in protein as well as being a great source of fibre, vitamins and minerals.

Number of Serves: 1

Ingredients

  • 200ml trim milk
  • 2 Tbs reduced fat unsweetened yogurt 
  • ½ frozen banana
  • ¼ cup frozen berries (eg blueberries, raspberries etc)
  • 2 Tbs oats
  • Few drops of vanilla essence

Method

  1. Combine milk, yoghurt, chopped banana, berries, oats and vanilla essence
  2. Blend for 20 seconds or until desired consistency is reached.
  3. Serve in a tall glass and enjoy!
