Dietitian and Nutritionist
BSc (Human Nutrition), PGDipDiet, NZRD
Julia is a New Zealand Registered Dietitian having completed a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and a Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics through the University of Otago. She has clinical experience in the public sector working as a community dietitian and an outpatient renal dietitian. She currently works part time as a general outpatient dietitian at Waitemata District Health Board and as a consultant dietitian providing nutrition consultations to individuals.
As a consultant dietitian Julia can help you with general nutrition, healthy eating for all ages, family nutrition, weight concerns, diabetes and kidney disease. She is passionate about simplifying nutrition and helping to make sense of all the conflicting information out there. Julia has a keen interest in a weight-neutral non-diet approach to stop the yo-yo dieting cycle and improve relationships with food and your body. She will work with you holistically to take into account your whole story and develop an individualised strategy that works within your personal reality.
Outside of work, Julia and her husband have three young children who keep them busy. Julia enjoys Pilates and spending time with her family and friends outdoors or catching up over a meal and wine.
